is the new name for the music shop at 69 High Street. They have taken over the
shop from Perfect Pitch. As well as being able to buy instruments here, you can
also learn how to play them in one of the tuition rooms (13/4/04)
Marinitas
is the name for the Coffee and Sandwich Bar that opened at
176 Darkes Lane (was Anchor Fish Bar) on 6th April. The accent is on healthy
eating at this new enterprise run by Maryam and Anita -

Fireworks shop at 1 Southgate Road
open now. It calls itself Discount Fireworks, and is
in the shop vacated by The Travel Centre some months ago. More

St. A family manufacturer and retailer established in High Wycombe

The Travel Centre
in Southgate Rd. Another great Potters Bar facility closed. The Travel Centre must have been there for at least 30 years. Killed off by us using the internet to buy
our tickets, and I suspect by the buying power of the travel agent chains.

posters point out that it is under new management from the previous Aaron
Locksmiths who were featured in the television programme "Rogue
Traders". Since first publishing this item, even Aaron's website

Perfect Pitch Music Services are opening a shop
in Kemble Parade (69, High St - was Paulo Golf). Selling
instruments, sheet music and tuition.
What's new 27th May
Lee Joy have a new shop in Kemble Parade (63 High St) specialising in
the sale of uniforms: school, scouts and guides. They still have
their ladies clothing shop at 59 High St.
Mediterraneo Restaurant and Pizzeria has replaced the Olive Tree Restaurant at 30
Barnet Road. Don't know if the management and chef has changed, but the menu has.
Alldays shop in Kemble Parade (61 High St) has been re-branded
to Co-op Welcome, following the Alldays chain takeover by the Co-op.
Cinnamon Indian Restaurant in 102 High St has closed to become
the new 102 restaurant.
Unwins Wine Merchants at 24 Barnet Road has either closed or having a makeover.
Ridgeway Cars also looks like it has closed its showroom in Oakmere Lane.
Bentley Estates in Kemble Parade (63 High St) have closed to become a Lee Joys shop
- see above.
Halfords in Darkes lane looks set to close on 7th June. |
