Potters Bar in Focus supports a Parish Council:.
To spend small amounts of money to improve services for Potters Bar. For example £1 per household would allow a one year trial of a Sunday PB1 bus service (500 travel on it every other day!) or an extension of the route 3 times a day to Barnet General. Or 60p per household for Christmas lights when current funding runs out this year.
To give back Potters Bar its civic identity. Most people feel out on a limb from Hertsmere. It will be able to fight for local services
To support community organisations and start new initiatives. Ask organisations in Borehamwood who supports them best - the answer is their Town Council, not the Borough Council. Perhaps Potters Bar would benefit from a Youth Forum, like Borehamwood does
Parish Councillors wont get paid. Although they have the power to vote to pay themselves, virtually no parish councillors in the country do get paid. They give up their time because they want to improve their town/parish. Would you re-elect a parish councillor who voted themselves a payment?
Borehamwood's costs £22 per year (Band D). And if you dont like what the councillors do or cost you, you can vote them out. Without a parish council leaves the town without an option.

Potters Bar in Focus collected 1870 signatures in support of a Parish Council. But whats it all about, how much will it cost?

What will it cost
- that depends on you. Either vote for someone who is going to do lots of things, at a cost, or somone who is committed to keep cost down. To give you an idea, this year in Hertsmere the extra cost of Parish councils is as follows for a D band property:
Ridge: £7
Elstree and Borehamwood: £22
Shenley: £32
Aldenham: £88
