Trees cut down at Honeywood House - report by Albert

This was owned by Haringey Council who ran a residential home for elderly people on the site. It seems that Haringey Council has sold the land to a private developer. Recently however in response to requests by residents, Hertsmere Borough Council put preservation orders on 9 beautiful trees on the site making it illegal to cut them down. But this is what the new owners appear to have done, flouting the preservation orders. Apparently no planning applications have yet been received by the borough council for building on the site. But no doubt many residents will be extremely annoyed at the loss of these trees and will want the borough council to take action on their behalf.
