POTTERS BAR HOCKEY CLUB LAUNCHES JUNIOR SECTION
Potters Bar Hockey Club (men) and South Herts Hockey Club (ladies) are starting
a Junior Hockey section for the first time this season. With both men’s teams promoted
last season, a new 3rd X1 starting and the Ladies promoted to the East League it is time
for the club to start developing its own talent to build on the success of last season.
Junior training for 7 to 14 year olds will take place on Thursdays between 7.00 and 8.00pm
at the Dame Alice Owens School astro from 25th September. Two qualified coaches with full
CRB clearance will be running coaching suitable for youngsters with both experience of
playing hockey and no experience at all. Sticks will be available but youngsters should
bring shin pads. Older juniors with some experience of hockey may prefer to come to Senior
Training that also takes place at Dame Alice Owens between 8.00and 9.00pm on Mondays.
The club is hoping to provide opportunities for both girls and boys to play matches
in the Herts Junior Leagues which take place on Sundays. Juniors over the age of 13
are entitled to play in senior league matches and those with sufficient experience and
confidence will be considered for the adult teams.
